Alexei Lupalo, 17, Bnei Brak
Alex came to Israel in 1999
with his family from Komsomolsk, Ukraine. Alexei, who had excelled at
school in the Ukraine, dreamed of studying law. Alexei worked as a
delivery boy at a Ramat Gan restaurant, gave part of his wages to his
parents to help them with household expenses, and saved the rest to
pay for his university studies.
On Friday, Alexei came home from work very tired and went to take a
shower. Some friends called unexpectedly and suggested they all go out
in the evening. They decided to go to the "Dolphy". Alexei said they
should all meet at the entrance to the club. When they arrived, they
hurried to join the line so that the girls with them could get in free
before midnight.

Irina Nepomnyashchy, 17, Bat Yam
Irina immigrated to
Israel with her family in 1996 from Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She studied
business administration at Shevah Mofet High School.
On Friday afternoon, the day of the attack,a few girlfriends came over
to Irina’s house, among them Ira and Marina, her best friends. They
began to plan her birthday together, which would take place in two
weeks time. They were in particularly high spirits that day and decided
to go out in the evening to the “Dolphy” disco.

Katarine Kastaneda-Talker, 15, Ramat Gan
Katerine
immigrated to Israel 1993 from Pereira, Colombia. She studied at
Pitman High School in Tel Aviv, majoring in computers.
On Friday evening, Katarine’s mother asked her how she planned to
spend the evening. Katerine said she wanted to go to the
Doplhinarium. Her mother agreed, but asked her to come home in a
taxi, and not walk home alone. Katerine went to her room to dress.
With her favorite CD playing in the background, she put on a red
blouse, a black skirt and black shoes.
Katerine was killed as she stood talking and laughing with her friends.
She was buried in the Catholic cemetery in Jaffa.
Katerine’s four-year-old brother misses her terribly and constantly asks,
“When will Katerine come back?”

Irina Osadchy, 18, Holon
Irina immigrated to Israel in 1997 from
Logansk, Ukraine. She studied at the Herzog high school in Holon.
Irina, who was strikingly attractive, loved to wear bracelets and other jewelry,
listen to music, go to the beach and have fun with friends.
Every Friday after school, Irina earned pocket-money cleaning apartment
stairwells with a friend. On the day of the attack, her friend was ill,
and Irina’s mother helped her clean.The two of them went grocery
shopping when they finished. On the way, Irina told her mother she
felt she was sleeping too much, and that it was a waste of time since she
wanted to take advantage of life’s every moment.
